Album of photographs taken by member(s) of U.S. Army Signal Corps during early years of establishment of Washington-Alaska Military Cable and Telegraph System (WAMCATS). Locations depicted include U.S. Army base in Fort Gibbon near Tanana; St. Michael; Tanana; and Fairbanks (including a few images of ruins after the 1906 fire). Other topics include railroads, Native Americans of the region, gold mining, and boats. Signal Corps soldiers and the telegraph system are documented throughout the album.
